It’s been five months. Five months since the specific, high-octane energy of a DeadBeats set echoed through the City Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
While we’ve been busy playing across the peninsula, expanding the net, so to speak, there is something about the atmosphere of a home-turf show in Woodstock that just hits differently. On Saturday, 23 May, we are finally heading back to Woodstock Brewery to end the drought.

More Than Just a Nostalgia Trip
If you’ve followed this blog for a while, you know my philosophy on live performance: it’s about the connection between the stage and the room. For those who haven’t experienced a DeadBeats show yet—or for the friends you’ve been trying to convince to join us—this isn’t your standard “tribute” act.
We don’t just play the hits; we lean into the “Alternative 80s” spirit. It’s the driving guitars of The Cult, the atmospheric layers of Simple Minds, and the synth-rock anthems of Tears for Fears and Duran Duran. It’s a set designed to remind you why this era of music still feels vital, powerful, and, most importantly, incredibly fun to experience live.

Why Woodstock Brewery?
There’s a reason we keep coming back to this venue. Between the industrial aesthetic, the top-tier craft beer, and an audience that actually knows their music history, it’s the perfect crucible for what we do.
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to get the old crew back together, this is it. We’re bringing a massive setlist, a few surprises, and that specific brand of energy that only comes after a five-month hiatus from the area.
The Essentials:
- Date: Saturday, 23 May 2026
- Venue: Woodstock Brewery, Cape Town
- Tickets: Available now via Quicket
A quick heads-up: Our brewery shows have a habit of reaching capacity early. If you’re planning on bringing a group, I’d highly recommend grabbing your tickets sooner rather than later to avoid the inevitable “is there a guest list?” messages on the day!
See you down the front. 🤘
